About CPC

“Connecting Presidential Collections” is a project funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and housed at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center. This project is designed to help make presidential materials more accessible and consists of four different parts:

1. The CPC website, which collaborates with partners to allow users to search across presidential collections. Partners submit descriptive information about their presidential materials, and the CPC website brings together that metadata to give users one place to look for presidential items.

2. A catalog of presidential collections, used to help us map out the location of various collections and identify partner organizations

3. Educational materials to help empower partners with hidden collections.

4. A microfilm project to extract item-level metadata from three sets of presidential papers.

The blog is a group effort and includes posts by Sheila Blackford, Amber Lautigar Reichert, Matthew Stephens, and Michael Greco.
